Everything is being prepared down to the smallest detail. The birth certificate is ready, the maternity bag is packed in the hall, my husband has made practice runs to the maternity hospital several times to measure the time it takes between home and the maternity hospital. Emotionally, I&#039;m ready now, a little worried about the pain, but now we want to meet our unborn child. Any thoughts that I could die during my birth or be ostracized by my family are not something I&#039;ve ever considered.<\/p>\n<p>14 years later, amidst the current pandemic and floods, Tulizo is about to give birth to her first child. Without a birth certificate, without a packed maternity bag (with all the \u201dnecessities\u201d) and without a man close by her side. Tulizo has been left by her boyfriend, without the right to an abortion. She is about to give birth in a country where the maternal mortality rate is 473 deaths per 100,000 births (compared to 4 per 100,000 in Sweden). Where the family often distances itself from the woman who has been left by her boyfriend\/husband when they are pregnant.<\/p>\n<p>But Tulizo has decided, she will give birth to her child and give the child all the necessities a child needs. Tulizo&#039;s mother and father are behind her and let her stay at home.<\/p>\n<p>Now she stands there at the entrance to Rutasoka Clinic. It&#039;s time, Tulizo is going to be a mother for the first time! She is received by the midwife Vumilia. The birth goes very well and Tulizo gives birth to a little daughter.
