From cultivation to enjoyment – A journey through quality:
We at Rutasoka are passionate about delivering the highest quality and unique flavors, and that starts with our organic coffee farmers in eastern Congo. High on the mountain slopes of the famous Virunga National Park and in the scenic surroundings of Lake Edward, where lush greenery and welcoming waterways provide the perfect breeding ground for our coffee beans. Each coffee berry is given the time it takes to ripen and then carefully picked by hand, ensuring that each bean’s full potential is preserved.
Slow Roast – An artistic touch from Sweden:
After our coffee beans are carefully harvested and freed from their kernels, the exciting journey continues with roasting in Sweden. Here, every step of the process is handled with care and precision. We use the Slow Roast method, where the coffee is roasted slowly, which allows the flavors to bloom fully. The result is a cup of coffee with a medium-dark character, rich in fine notes, and a round aftertaste with subtle notes of plum and cocoa.
Okapi – Durability and quality in every cup:
With every cup of Okapi, you not only get a unique taste experience, but you also support the sustainability of coffee producers in eastern Congo. Through our commitment to organic farming and fair conditions, we help create a positive impact on coffee growers and their communities.
100% Arabica coffee from organic and fair trade plantations in the North Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Okapi is perfect for those who love a rich and full-taste experience. Grind the coffee just before brewing to get the ultimate aroma and taste.

The coffee producers in eastern Congo have long suffered from war and conflict, which has led to neglected plantations and risk-taking to smuggle the raw coffee to neighboring Uganda, on the other side of Lake Edward. But now, with increased stability in the area, producers have finally gotten their revenge. Through passionate commitment and hard work, coffee from the Congo has once again become a recognized feature on the international market. Since our start in 2017, we have proudly been part of this development. Together with you, as a customer, we can continue to build up the standard of living of our fellow human beings and contribute to their life’s work.
